I think Lily Collins has the perfect face for any type of look but this year has been really astonishing in the Golden Globes red carpet: everything was great, her makeup, her dress and her hair matched with perfection, looking like a real modern princess.
Last Sunday she wore a Lâncome total look in rosy matte eyeshadows and matte red lips created by her makeup artist Fiona Stiles. What surprised me was that Stiles created the eyeshadow tone using pale blushed color lip liner as a base and a petal blush to intesify the color! For the perfect matte lipstick shade that would match Lily’s dress she chose Lâncome l’Absolu Rouge in Souvenir, after trying several shades together with the artist.
I was so in love with this look that inspired me to create a similar look but with a daily twist. Instead I decided to use more neutral colors such as brownish pink tones. Here you have the result:
Obviously it is quite different as I don’t attend to red carpet events, maybe I go to the movies once per week! To me would be strange to wear very dramatic makeup on a Sunday afternoon so I prefer this natural approach for my look. For the eyeshadow I’ve mixed and blended Strawberry and Caramel tone with a little bit of Cherry from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette. For my cheeks I decided to use Sleek blush in Flushed (a shade that I totally love), and for the lips I picked Kat von D Everlasting lipstick in Double Dare, a brownish pink tone perfect for a day makeup. These days I’ve been having problems with some spots so I chose Fit me matte foundation in Buff Beige by Maybelline applied with my beige Beuty blender. I concealed my under eyes with Nars Radiant Concealer in Vanilla and Laura Mercier Loose Setting powder. For the final touch, as usual, I’ve used my Better than Sex Too Faced mascara. Hope you like it!

CHRYSALIS EYE SHADOW PALETTE
I follow Kat von D as a tattoo lover but her makeup line is amazing! I fell in love with this palette the first time I saw the packaging: inspired on butterflies. Its colours are great for brunettes with mediterranean skin tones like mine: subtle and electrical at the same time. It contains 12 cool tones: purple, violet, navy, pearl mauve… some mettalic and a few matte. All of them with awesome pigmentation.
TATOO LINER TROOPER
It’s precise and easy to use. I tried it to go out and stayed all night, so the formula is perfect. It is an intense black liner.
Creamy and blendable at the same time, very pigmented and resistant. It hides my dark circles and blemishes with a flawless finish.
SHADE AND LIGHT CONTOUR PALETTE
I’m not into contouring technique as I prefer natural makeup, but I must say that once I tried it and I saw it on my face I loved it.The powders are super fine and pigmented at the same time. It gives a healthy look at the skin without being fake. It suits all skin tones as there is a variety of subtle shades.
First of all let me apologize for any possible language mistakes! I am a common girl from Barcelona who teaches English and History and who also loves advising normal people how to look like a super model! just kidding…
My name is Sara. So what am I doing here talking about all this stuff?!
Well I love arts and writing, so here I am mixing my two passions. I consider makeup as an ART. I’ve been into makeup since I was a teen with spots to be covered, little by little I’ve been improving my experience with loads of curiosity, research, lessons and with self discipline.
I would like to bring my experience to regular women who care about their appearance but who don’t have a clue where to start from and want to keep it simple and natural. I also want to help teens to go through this difficult acne and insecurities time and men who want to look hot!
I hope to be helpful and also learn from all of you too!
These are some of my “essentials”:
MAC “Girl about town” and Chanel rouge, The Balm Mary Loumanizer to highlight cheekbones, Too faced “Better than sex” mascara: amazing eyelashes. Also Too faced “Shadow insurance” lid primer. Kat von D black eyeliner for those who want to create cat eyes without failing! Bobbi Brown products, of course! Eyeshadows: the one and only “Naked 1, 2 and 3” from Urban Decay; Dior‘s pigmented palettes and Estée Lauder awsome shades
