I’ve always been a big fan of simplicity and naturality when it comes to makeup and this is something that I learned years ago from my guru: Bobbi Brown. Some days ago I heard she is leaving her makeup brand by the end of 2016.
She is a professional makeup artist who became well known for her natural approach in contrast with the bright colors used during 80’s and 90’s. She was an example of an enterpreneur woman: released her own brand together with a chemist and was successful.
I can remember the first time I went to her makeup store: I was seventeen and had some clues on makeup, but wanted to learn more of this amazing world full of possibilities. That was when I found out that her lipsticks and foundations would be part of my whole life. She has used real women as models since she started her career, something that caught my attention from the very beginning, as she was showing the inner beauty and strong points of each women: this is the aim of makeup.
Here is a list of my favorite products:
-Stick foundation and compact foundation: I love their natural coverage and texture. They hide imperfections without looking heavy on my face and last the whole day.
-All her lipsticks: really creamy and smooth.
–Blushes: their texture is smooth and blend perfectly. They are really pigmented and last all day and night.
–Shimmer Brick: I’ve loved it for years! I apply it on top of my cheekbones to give a nice glow.
–Eyeshadow in Charcoal and eyeliner brush: I mix it with some water and create my own eyeliner with a natural twist for every day.
-Long-wear gel eyeliner: highly pigmented and waterproof.
–Corrector and concealers: creamy and moisted. With different neutral shades and perfect coverage.

- When it comes to makeup for teenagers I must say: LESS IS MORE. It has to be soft and subtle, even at night or in an event. We don’t want you to look like mini Barbies or Kens! You have to look your age: natural and fresh!
It is also very important to take good care of your skin, as maybe you tend to have blemishes or acne. Don’t worry! I’ll give you some tips to hide all the imperfections 😉
BIODERMA’s Micellar water for mixed skins is great for you! Apply it each night with a cotton pad in order to remove impurities.
Natural emergency tip: toothpaste on the spot!
Chemist: PEROXIBEN is the best product by far! Also NEOSTRATA salicylic gel works great.
Use a light moisturizer such as Bioderma or Clarins for mixted skins. Although I always prefer the chemist to purchase good products.
Money issue: we know teens are not the richest human beings on Earth. Here are some affordable brands whose quality is excellent: Nyx, Sleek, MUA, Essence, Maybelline and L’Oreal are among my favourites.
Concealer is your best friend! Apply green concealer on your spots and then cover them blending your makeup base, you can use a blending sponge or a base brush. For under eye circles combine yellow concealer with a beige tone, always one tone lighter than your makeup base tone.
Clean, clean , clean! Use cleaning soap day and night before your regular cream to keep your skin away of impurities
First of all let me apologize for any possible language mistakes! I am a common girl from Barcelona who teaches English and History and who also loves advising normal people how to look like a super model! just kidding…
My name is Sara. So what am I doing here talking about all this stuff?!
Well I love arts and writing, so here I am mixing my two passions. I consider makeup as an ART. I’ve been into makeup since I was a teen with spots to be covered, little by little I’ve been improving my experience with loads of curiosity, research, lessons and with self discipline.
I would like to bring my experience to regular women who care about their appearance but who don’t have a clue where to start from and want to keep it simple and natural. I also want to help teens to go through this difficult acne and insecurities time and men who want to look hot!
I hope to be helpful and also learn from all of you too!
These are some of my “essentials”:
MAC “Girl about town” and Chanel rouge, The Balm Mary Loumanizer to highlight cheekbones, Too faced “Better than sex” mascara: amazing eyelashes. Also Too faced “Shadow insurance” lid primer. Kat von D black eyeliner for those who want to create cat eyes without failing! Bobbi Brown products, of course! Eyeshadows: the one and only “Naked 1, 2 and 3” from Urban Decay; Dior‘s pigmented palettes and Estée Lauder awsome shades
