TARTE Shape Tape concealer review

First of all, sorry for not posting for a while! I’ve been really busy so I didn’t have plenty of time 😉

I’ve recently add this concealer to my makeup collection and I don’t regret it at all! In my life I’ve tried loads of concealers and brands: Nars, Kat von D, Too faced… but this one worth the hype!

First let me talk about the packaging: it came into a super cool box, you can see that Tarte people know how to treat their clients, as they take care of small details.

The concealer size is great and the wand with which you apply it is just HUGE! as it says it is thought to be a contour product as well. That’s the reason why, after using it for a month, I realised I don’t need a lot of product. Once you apply three spots of this concealer the ideal is to blend it out by tapping it with a mini beauty blender. Afterwards I could see that is much better if you set it with a setting powder, as it helps to keep creasing effect away and to last all day. I always use my beloved Laura Mercier Translucent Loose setting powder.

To me it has been one of the best recent discoveries! It worth the 24 euros by far.

My tone is medium honey, I’m brunette with a cool undertone so I thought it would match me. After being almost twenty years searching for the best concealer I think I’ve finally found it! 😍

FROG PRINCE by Lipstick Queen

Recently I’ve fallen in love with this Australian brand: Lipstick Queen. I purchased one of their best products by far which is Frog Prince lipstick and blush. First of all I have to mention the packaging of the box that is like the cover of a story book  full of amazing drawings such as a medieval castle.

img_20161228_153945_216

The funny part comes when you open the box and you see a green emerald lipstick and blush. Like a fairytale, the green transforms into a nice glossy pink as soon as it touches your lips and skin. Depending on your skin PH it can vary in color from pomegranate to rose.

img_20161228_154641_818

It is very hydrating, enriched with Vitamin E and Shea butter, which keeps lips moisturized and soft, with a subtle juicy effect. The blush is also special, it comes with a little mirror. I recommend to apply a little amount first as the color can be strong on your skin depending on its reaction with the formula.

To me that’s a perfect combination for an everyday look, when you are in a rush and you need to look nice and healthy. You can also be sure that the shade will suit you as it is different in each skin, so is a unique formula for everybody. I would totally recommend it!

Holidays look in silver and wine

I’ve based today’s look on winter colors: silver eyeshadows and wine matte lipstick. This is a great combination for dark cool undertones like mine which also match perfectly with silver jewellery and gray tops.

Knowing your skin tone and what colors suit best, for both clothes and makeup, can make a difference to your entire look. To get it I’ve been faithful to Naked 2 palette from Urban Decay, its Pistol and Verve cool tones. Verve is an amazing pearl shade with shinny finish and highly pigmented. Pistol is a brownish gray tone with also a shimmer finish, one of my  favorites for an evening look or a special occasion.

I think silver tones provide a beautiful contrast to warm brown eyes, and fit very well with wine or plum lipsticks. Here I leave some swatches so that you can get the idea.

For this look I’ve used the following products:

Bareminerals Matte foundation in Medium tan.

Kat von D concealer in Cool.

Bareminerals powder concealer in Summer Bisque.

Laura Mercier loose setting powder to set the concealer and foundation.

Kat von D Shade and Light contouring palette.

Urban Decay Naked 2 palette Pistol and Verve tones.

Too faced blush in Your love is King.

MeMeMe Beat the Blues liquid highlighter.

Sephora M11 Matte lipstick and lip liner.

Kat von D Trooper Tatoo liner.

Too faced Better than sex mascara.

Christmas makeup 🎅🌲

Now that holidays start I want to write a post about the makeup I use for these days. I always try to change but I have in mind that there’s a difference between makeup for family meetings and makeup to go out to parties. I normally keep it simple for dinners such as Christmas, with classical tones: my favorite are golden eyeshadow and red lips.

Here is my look and my fave products for tonight. Later on I’m going to write a step-by-step tutorial…but by now I’ve used:

Galenic Aqua Infini moisturizer.

Strivectin eye concentrate.

Clinique pep-start:used as a primer.

Nars Sheer Matte foundation in Santa Fe Medium 2.

Kat von D Shade and Light contouring palette.

Kat von D lock-it concealer in Cool tone.

The Balm creamy concealer in Light.

Too faced Insurance eyeshadow primer.

Bareminerals powder concealer in Summer bisque.

Laura Mercier translucent loose setting powder.

Urban Decay Naked 2 eyeshadow palette.

Too faced Love Flush blush palette: Your love is King.

Beter Look expert brow gel.

Shu Uemura curler.

Too faced Better than sex mascara.

Nabla matte lipstick in Alter Ego.

Deborah tranparent universal lip pencil.

Nars brown pencil eyeliner in Mambo.

Kat von D trooper eyeliner.

I hope you like the look! MERRY CHRISTMAS my beloved readers!!!

NOVEX Bamboo Sprout Shampoo

Hi guys! A week ago I had the opportunity to try out Novex Bamboo Sprout Shampoo. It has been in the right time as the last few months I had trouble managing my hair. It’s always been soft, straight and smooth, so I wanted it back as it used to be! I don’t really know the reasons why but these months I’ve been feeling it messy, weaker and more rebel in the mornings.

After trying other products (even lotions) with failure, I decided to give a chance to this one and it was a great decision! After using it for a week I fell in love with the way my hair looked like, healthy and full of shine. Now I also feel it stronger and easer to manage than before.

I’m looking forward to try all the products of the Bamboo Sprout line which I think I’m going to purchase and also the Keratin line, as I’ve heard very good reviews.

I really notice a difference in my hair so I think it worth a full post on the blog. I would recommend it to all if you without a doubt!

MeMeMe Beat the Blues and Cupid’s Kiss

I came across this brand some years ago, when I was into Benefit products. I found out that for 5 euros, each little bottle, I got the same results!

Lip and cheek tint: it is very subtle and leaves a juicy look. It is versatile and handy, to take into your handbag and for multiple uses.

Highlighter in Sunbeam: I like to apply it for a natural non glittery look. It is a champagne tone that blends out easily.

CHRYSALIS EYE SHADOW PALETTE

I follow Kat von D as a tattoo lover but her makeup line is amazing! I fell in love with this palette the first time I saw the packaging: inspired on butterflies. Its colours are great for brunettes with mediterranean skin tones like mine: subtle and electrical at the same time. It contains 12 cool tones: purple, violet, navy, pearl mauve… some mettalic and a few matte. All of them with awesome pigmentation.

TATOO LINER TROOPER

It’s precise and easy to use. I tried it to go out and stayed all night, so the formula is perfect. It is an intense black liner.

LOCK-IT CONCEALER

Creamy and blendable at the same time, very pigmented and resistant. It hides my dark circles and blemishes with a flawless finish.

SHADE AND LIGHT CONTOUR PALETTE

I’m not into contouring technique as I prefer natural makeup, but I must say that once I tried it and I saw it on my face I loved it.The powders are super fine and pigmented at the same time. It gives a healthy look at the skin without being fake. It suits all skin tones as there is a variety of subtle shades.

My perfumes

Romance by Ralph Lauren it’s a classical. My all time favourites, femenine and emotional. Created when I was 19, it brings into my mind these special moments of my youth 😍 It’s floral, woody and aromatic, with a clear, transparent and simple packaging

Chance Eau Fraîche by Chanel. Once I got into this perfume I never left it! It’s a wonderful perfume with different twists. Fresh, clean and with a special smell, with a lot of personality.

Bright Crystal by Versace. I fell in love with it some years ago. It made me feel strong, confident and glamorous. It’s fresh and floral, even tropical, but with a subtle mixture.

Mugler Cologne by Thierry Mugler. I always thought Mugler’s perfumes where too strong for me…and suddenly I found this cologne! It is a fresh unisex perfume for every day. It smells fruity and fresh. I never have enough of it!

Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana. Even if it’s meant to be a fresh freagrance, it is everything but light as its long-lasting scent remains in my skin and clothes for hours! I just love its scent: fresh, woody and fruity.

Floral Touch by Tous. Its design is the first that caught my attention, but the best is inside! Created by the perfumist Sophie Labbé, it’s a floral fragrance that captures perfectly well the balance between sweet and fresh, without being too sticky.

Daisy by Marc Jacobs. The best packaging I’ve seen in my life! I discovered it living in England. It made me feel happy on rainy days! Just looking at the bottle made me smile…it’s way cute! It is easy to wear, simple, classical, fresh and young.

The One Perfume by Dolce & Gabbana. I’ve never been into perfumes… I always prefer eau de toilette, but this is an exception. In fact I love all Dolce & Gabbana perfumes! What I love the most is its long-lasting scent, without being sticky. It leaves a subtle smell, very personal.

Hair Tips: my products

One of my strong points is my hair, but I must say that it isn’t always easy to manage. People give you hundreds of recommendations but I end up finding my favourite products testing and testing. So here they are:

MOROCCAN OIL‘s product is one of my favs as it gives a gentle touch to my ends (I never apply it on my roots as they tend to become greasy).

KLORANE: is a French chemist brand quite affordable. I can’t survive without its Dry Shampoo…it feels so fresh and great!

TIGI: I love EVERYTHING of this brand. When I moved to England I found out my top 1 product which is their HEADRUSH SHINE ADRENALINE with a superfine mist. I use it when I go out as it gives a wonderful glow!

In autumn we always deal with hair lose: these days I’ve been trying ISDIN LAMBDAPIL monodoses. Now my hair feels stronger 😍

Finally let me recommend you a basic product of all times: REVLON EQUAVE 2PHASE. It moisturises my hair kickly as it is a spray conditioner.

CRAZY ABOUT MAKEUP!

First of all let me apologize for any  possible language mistakes! I am a common girl from Barcelona who teaches English and History and who also loves advising normal people how to look like a super model! just kidding…

My name is Sara. So what am I doing here talking about all this stuff?!

Well I love arts and writing, so here I am mixing my two passions. I consider makeup as an ART. I’ve been into makeup since I was a teen with spots to be covered,  little by little I’ve been improving my experience with loads of curiosity, research, lessons and with self discipline.

I would like to bring my experience to regular women who care about their appearance but who don’t have a clue where to start from and want to keep it simple and natural. I also want to help teens to go through this difficult acne and insecurities time and men who want to look hot!

I hope to be helpful and also learn from all of you too!

img_20161103_155845 These are some of my “essentials”:

MAC “Girl about town” and Chanel rouge, The Balm Mary Loumanizer to highlight cheekbones, Too faced “Better than sex” mascara: amazing eyelashes. Also Too faced “Shadow insurance” lid primer. Kat von D black eyeliner for those who want to create cat eyes without failing! Bobbi Brown products, of course! Eyeshadows: the one and only “Naked 1, 2 and 3” from Urban Decay; Dior‘s pigmented palettes and Estée Lauder awsome shades
