Lily Collins Golden Globes makeup inspo with a twist

I think Lily Collins has the perfect face for any type of look but this year has been really astonishing in the Golden Globes red carpet: everything was great, her makeup, her dress and her hair matched with perfection, looking like a real modern princess.

Last Sunday she wore a Lâncome total look in rosy matte eyeshadows and matte red lips created by her makeup artist Fiona Stiles. What surprised me was that Stiles created the eyeshadow tone using pale blushed color lip liner as a base and a petal blush to intesify the color! For the perfect matte lipstick shade that would match Lily’s dress she chose Lâncome l’Absolu Rouge in Souvenir, after trying several shades together with the artist.

I was so in love with this look that inspired me to create a similar look but with a daily twist. Instead I decided to use more neutral colors such as brownish pink tones. Here you have the result:

Obviously it is quite different as I don’t attend to red carpet events, maybe I go to the movies once per week! To me would be strange to wear very dramatic makeup on a Sunday afternoon so I prefer this natural approach for my look. For the eyeshadow I’ve mixed  and blended Strawberry and Caramel tone with a little bit of Cherry from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette. For my cheeks I decided to use Sleek blush in Flushed (a shade that I totally love), and for the lips I picked Kat von D Everlasting lipstick in Double Dare, a brownish pink tone perfect for a day makeup. These days I’ve been having problems with some spots so I chose Fit me matte foundation in Buff Beige by Maybelline applied with my beige Beuty blender. I concealed my under eyes with Nars Radiant Concealer in Vanilla and Laura Mercier Loose Setting powder. For the final touch, as usual, I’ve used my Better than Sex Too Faced mascara. Hope you like it!

FROG PRINCE by Lipstick Queen

Recently I’ve fallen in love with this Australian brand: Lipstick Queen. I purchased one of their best products by far which is Frog Prince lipstick and blush. First of all I have to mention the packaging of the box that is like the cover of a story book  full of amazing drawings such as a medieval castle.

The funny part comes when you open the box and you see a green emerald lipstick and blush. Like a fairytale, the green transforms into a nice glossy pink as soon as it touches your lips and skin. Depending on your skin PH it can vary in color from pomegranate to rose.

It is very hydrating, enriched with Vitamin E and Shea butter, which keeps lips moisturized and soft, with a subtle juicy effect. The blush is also special, it comes with a little mirror. I recommend to apply a little amount first as the color can be strong on your skin depending on its reaction with the formula.

To me that’s a perfect combination for an everyday look, when you are in a rush and you need to look nice and healthy. You can also be sure that the shade will suit you as it is different in each skin, so is a unique formula for everybody. I would totally recommend it!

MeMeMe Beat the Blues and Cupid’s Kiss

I came across this brand some years ago, when I was into Benefit products. I found out that for 5 euros, each little bottle, I got the same results!

Lip and cheek tint: it is very subtle and leaves a juicy look. It is versatile and handy, to take into your handbag and for multiple uses.

Highlighter in Sunbeam: I like to apply it for a natural non glittery look. It is a champagne tone that blends out easily.

Winter trends

For this season we have many options: from nude to glittery, depending if we want to get a natural look for casual days or more intense for special nights out. I love matching eyeshadows and lips with nail polishes, so I choose a similar colour.

BURGUNDY AND PLUM

Get inspiration in grape and wine colours! to me the sexiest together with red lips. I prefer to leave the rest of the face fresh and natural, just with the mascara and a blush which fits the lipstick tone.

BACK TO CLASSICS: RED AND GOLD

I love the classical Chanel look with golden eyeshadow and red matte rouge for special ocasions. These festive days are a great chance to try these colours,  but I always prefer them with a natural twist.

SMOKEY AND GOTHIC

The key with gothic look and smokey eyes is pointing out the eyes and use a nude lipstick. Smokey eyeshadows can be more natural in grey or brown shades during daytime and blacker at night. Here are some ideas and steps for your looks:

GO NATURAL

I love autumn colours and all its shades: bronze, beige, brown… I always use my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette, it’s got great pigmentation and it is easy to blend.
